Nostalgia has never sounded so modern. Quite how Elephant have managed to get an elegantly European string arrangement drifting so gracefully through the cracks of a set of piercingly jagged Dilly drums is beyond me. Amelia Rivas’ breathy vocals have a seductive warmth about them that give a human touch to a beat that has a natural grandeur to it. The fact something that could come off so easily as a series of misplaced samples has formed such an organic bond is a sonic-miracle and one that leaves a finished product that is so subtle and cool in it’s execution that you cant help but take notice.
I’m too tired to ask any questions here. Comment about that…!
