Sean Leon – Ninelevenne, The Tragedy

Right everyone, Christmas break is over and given that I’m basically going to have to re-learn how to write in the midst of a third day of NYE after-effects, you can expect the same sub-par blogging as always. Who said change was good…

Anyway one thing I was dying to write about the past fortnight was the debut project from Canada based MC Sean Leon. The project, a collaboration with Jordan Evans, is one of the most cohesively chilling bits of cloud rap I’ve ever heard. The painstakingly detailed production acts as a melodically rich counter-point to Sean’s simple flow which just drips personality. This is a stunning first-punch of a project, one that not only leaves me wondering how I went the whole year without hearing it but one that has me very excited for the future.
