Who knows how long it will last but there’s some definite movement towards pop going a bit ‘alt’ at the moment. Between Lorde’s 2 weeks and counting at the top of the US charts and Haim scoring a no.1 with their debut over here, we’re certainly seeing some cracks of light between the ever present Guetta-fog. Enter F.U.R.S whose glossy, female-led fuzz hits look to march some credibility right into the charts. Marrying edgy, almost shoegazing textures with a bit of Killers-esque synth pop grandeur, they manage to create something that hits hard but brings with it a overwhelming sense of pure-pop. In a year or two the charts could be looking reaaaaal good!
Anyone else feeling quite excited about the charts these days? Comment!

Thanks for bring this to light for me, Will. Loving the harder beats with gauzy guitar textures. I think that beats have been ignored in shoegaze for too long. Cheers!
